Whenever possible, San Francisco City staff should use durable food ware such as ceramic plates, cups or metal utensils.  If San Francisco City staff must buy disposable food service ware, these products must be compostable or recyclable in San Francisco.  The use of polystyrene foam disposable foodware is prohibited City-wide by all food service establishments including all City departments and City contractors and lessees.

SF City Staff are REQUIRED to use products listed below because they have both met SF Environment's environmental & health requirements AND are less expensive because they are on the City-wide contract.   SF Green Businesses are ALLOWED to use these products.
