Try:

Improving ventilation instead of air fresheners. 

Reason:

Air fresheners often contain phthalates, some of which are are “probable carcinogens” according to the US Environmental Protection Agency.  Phthalates are not usually listed as ingredients, but are listed as “fragrance.”
